On Thursday 4th August 2016, Neil Dudley and Scott Berridge were invited guests of The ECB Coaches Association at the 2nd day of the Investec test at Edgbaston.

They were joined by other coaches from Derbyshire, Dorset, Devon, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire, Lancashire, Northampton, Staffordshire, Wales, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Each receiving recognition for their contributions towards cricket.

Neil received The Nottinghamshire ECB Coaches Association award for “outstanding contribution”.

Neil has coached at West Bridgfordians for over 15 years and has seen many changes in those years, from a handful of juniors attending the training sessions to now having over 250 juniors registered at the club. He has coached and managed every age group at the club and for the first time in 2016 he took on the role as a coach in our large girls section. He has played cricket at WBCC for over 30 years and finally called time on his playing career in 2015. However he has not entirely given up the white clothing, he will continue to wear a white coat whilst umpiring on Saturday afternoons in 2016

Scott received the Nottinghamshire ECB Coaches Association “Coach of the Year 2015”

In 2015 Scott was instrumental in developing our U13 players and 13 of those boys played their first senior cricket matches. A number of those boys made debuts in our second team as the season progressed.  Whilst 13 Under 13s may not seem that remarkable without these boys WBCC would not have been able to field 4 teams on a Saturday and 2 on a Sunday. Each and every one of the boys held their own in the games they played and would not have been there without the coaching and support Scott gives.

As well as taking on the role of head coach, Scott also managed a junior team in 2015, they came second in their league, only losing out on the top spot by 2 points. In 2015 / 2016 we had our highest number of juniors boys being accepted into the Nottinghamshire county squads, 5 boys, Scott has coached all these boys.

In addition to all the voluntary work Scott does at WBCC he also coached the Nottinghamshire U12 South Sub County team during the summer months in 2015.
