Friday 9th September is a massive day in the history of our Sports Club and we hope that lots of cricket and rugby members will be able to come down to the club to celebrate the Clubhouse Grand Opening.

Just over two years ago we started the work to redevelop our dilapidated old clubhouse and after spending close to £400,000 we are ready to officially open it. Although we have been using it for the last 18 months, we have now finished the work on the toilets, changing rooms and kitchen so the official plaque unveiling can now happen.

We have loads of activities planned on the day to entertain everyone that comes down, and the bar will obviously be open throughout as well. The timetable is as follows,

4:30                 WBCC Ladies Cricket Match

6pm                 BBQ, Samosas and doughnuts

6pm                 Kwik Cricket and Tag Rugby Games for Under 12s

7:10pm            THE GRAND OPENING

7:30pm            WBRFC 1st XV v. Ashbourne RFC (under floodlights)

9pm                 Live music from The Blues Lobsters

We are also going to have plenty of special guests coming down to the club, including Ken Clark; The Mayor of Rushcliffe and The CEO of the RFU, Ian Ritchie.

We are also hopeful of announcing some other very special guests in the coming days.

So please come along on 9th September to support our superb club.   Let’s celebrate the end of the cricket season and have a great evening of fun, food, fantastic music and fabulous sporting activities!

I look forward to welcoming you there then.

Thanks
