West Bridgfordians 1st and 2nd XIs are safe in their respective divisions are securing much needed victories in Saturday's SNCL games.

The 1st XI crushed bottom of the table Southwell by 7 wickets. Chris Watkins took 5-21 as the visitors were dismissed for 106 in only 37.4 overs.

Ben Shaw's 66* saw the 1s home with 20 overs to spare.

After a difficult season the 1st XI will play in Division B next summer. Southwell have been relegated and it looks likely that Plumtree II will join then as long as Clifton Village II get 3 points from their final game next Saturday.

The 2nd XI also managed to secure their place in their division with a comfortable win at Hickling.

Batting first the 2s reached a competitive 225-4 off their 45 overs with John Spragg top scoring with 67 and skipper DT continuing his good batting form with 51*.

The home side were never in it and reached 155-7 off their allotted overs.

The win demotes Farndon who crushed already relegated Kinoulton.

To survive in Div H the 3rd XI need to beat yesterday's opponents Thrumpton and restrict them to 7 points or less next Saturday. If the teams are level on points then wins is the deciding factor.

The 3s will need to improve after being thumped yesterday by 105 runs.

The 4th XI will have to wait to see what happens in the lower divisions mix after finishing 2nd bottom in Div M. The bottom echelons of the SNCL are never the same each season!
