Club News

It looks like the weather forecasters can’t get anything nailed down at the moment and it always seems to affect us! Never mind! We’re coming to the end of our junior coaching Friday’s and it feels like the time has just flown by. We certainly hope that everyone has had a great time, despite the wet stuff. It has cheered all of us up to see so many back playing and training again after the past year that we’ve all had to, and continue to endure!

Senior Cricket

The 1st XI played Gedling Colliery on Saturday and left with a losing draw. Alex Winiarksi hit an excellent 86 in reply to GC’s 220-9, but nobody was able to stay with him and by the time we were getting towards the end of our innings we dropped anchor and took the bonus points on offer.

The 2nd XI hosted Thrumpton and were in trouble at 80-7 when Matt Baker was dropped in the field. With help from tail he hit a superb 102* and helped the 2s to 192. In reply the visitors couldn’t cope with Matt Davis’s (5-40) pace or Dan James (3-17) lively swing as they fell 97 short.

The 3rd team lost to Kinoulton after being bowled out for 88 at Adbolton. In reply Kinoulton made short work of the chase with ex-WBCC Will Duncan hitting a quickfire 50.

The 4th XI had no game this weekend.

The 5th XI had no game this weekend due to too many of the opposition isolating!
