1st XI: Top Order Fires in 173-Run Kimberley Demolition
The 1st XI left their recent run of nerve-wracking, down-to-the-wire finishes firmly behind them, ruthlessly dispatching Kimberley Institute 2nd XI by 173 runs at Stamford Road. Sent in to bat, the Bridgfordians compiled an imposing 268-9 from their 50 overs. Save for opener Craig Harrison, who struck a lone-hand 52, no other batsman reached double figures. Jacob Hughes was the standout performer with the ball, picking up a clinical 3-20 from his seven overs. Skipper Ben Savage set the tone perfectly with an incredibly tight opening burst of 2-12, while Joe Holding (2-22) and Sameera Sadamal (2-10) closed out the final wickets to bundle the visitors out for a meager 95 in less than 30 overs.
2nd XI: Aggressive Chase Seals Dominant Win at Attenborough
A masterclass in aggressive top-order batting saw the 2nd XI successfully hunt down a steep target to secure a commanding seven-wicket win away at Attenborough Village Green. Following his departure, the job was seamlessly finished by Joe McLaughlin, who carried his bat for a superb 57*, and captain Matt Lyon, who hit a quick-fire 52 off 60 balls. The seconds flew past the target in the 44th over to bank the full 20 points.
3rd XI: Ten-Wicket Squeeze Skewers Hucknall
The 3rd XI made incredibly short work of Hucknall 3rd XI at the Adbolton Ground, racing to a comprehensive nine-wicket victory. The 5th XI produced an jaw-dropping performance at Croxton Kerrial Sports Club, absolutely obliterating Bingham 4th XI by 193 runs. Choosing to bat first, the Bridgfordians posted a massive 221-6 from 36 overs. Wicketkeeper Sam Brewington was the undeniable star of the show, bludgeoning a spectacular 77 off just 63 balls, hitting 15 fours and a six. He was well supported by Feroz Salman (47) and George Bostock (45).
Faced with a mountain to climb, Bingham’s response was brief and catastrophic as they were rolled out for a mere 28 runs in 14 overs.
